air/fuel ratio gauge

just got my glowshift air/fuel ratio gauge in the mail today.
i am going to be wiring it up in a lil bit, and just wondering some questions.

this is going to be going on the A pillar just for reference to location.

I figure it would be easier to splice the signal wire closer to the ecu, rather than the o2 sensor. does anyone know where this is located? i am searching on the service manual, but have limited searching capabilities, and cannot seem to find it... maybe its my eyes with all the little numbers, lines, and letters pushing together....

but if i do go with close to the o2 sensor, which i dont want to do because i dont want to haul my jack up from the basement, i just had a numbing syringe stuck into the inside of my thigh yesterday and my leg is bruised up and hurts

but which wire is it anyway, also cannot figure it out..... ive done some online searching and people have many different ideas on which this is... i am going to clean my egr port, and replace my fuel pressure regulator now, and i am gonna hold off on the gauge until after then.

any input would be good, I only have today to work on my car before the tristate meet, and would like to be able to moniter my air/fuel ratio on the drive up because of all my fuel system problems recently....

but if i dont get any input ill have to figure it out myself anyway... hopefully someone helps me out that has done this before. thanks

Re: air/fuel ratio gauge

just did some more reading up real quick, and learned that D14 on the ecu is the o2 signal wire which will be white, or possibly white red and that is the wire that i need to tap into for the signal for my air/fuel ratio gauge. IF this is wrong, PLEASE someone shoot me a txt or call at 732-609-4620 ASAP so i know not to do this... lol but hopefully that is right, i cross referenced between 2 different sites, with 2 different schematics, and they both came up with that same slot.

Re: air/fuel ratio gauge

you can get it off the ecu. im not 100% sure which wire it is but I found it really fast a year ago on the web when we were doing psychochimps a/f

Re: air/fuel ratio gauge

heres the pictures from my install... hopefully it is connected right, it is reading something, and the needle raises and drops when i hit the gas, and release, but it has not once came out of lean area when the car is running... test drive and everything.

I am dealing with a code 43 right now and still have that code, only comes on when driving over 50mph and i keep the throttle steady.
I have replaced the fuel filter and today the fuel pressure regulator, air filter, spark plug wires...

also replaced a bunch of vacuum hoses.

next step is the MAP sensor most likely, or fuel injectors... i might just bring my car into the shop and have them diagnose it for me, then ill fix it...

but anyway heres the pictures.

IGNORE
the ****ty fitment of the universal A piller gauge pod, and the orange wire not connected, that is the dimmer.

i am eventually going to send in my other A piller trim to get custom made into a gauge pod.

any help is appreciated.

Re: air/fuel ratio gauge

Air fuel gauge huh? Just FYI, you wasted your money. That gauge won't tell you anything worth a damn.

Re: air/fuel ratio gauge

Have you ever tapped into a harnesses before? Why do all your wires have connectors?

I'm lost looking at your pics. Hold on... Is your o2 sensor narrowband? If so blake hit it on the head.

Here's some help

Re: air/fuel ratio gauge

That's exactly what I did... I think the wiring for my o2 sensor might be messed up and might be the cause for me not getting a good signal reading lean, and also the cause for my code 43.... Thanks for trying to help my out though I appreciate it I'm gonna double check my wiring to the ecu harness D Tomm
