white smoke from tail pipe

1992 prelude with 1993 jdm h22a engine

The engine light is NOT on

the coolant had always been at level. i see no loss in coolant

The car has been sitting since February. Only started it once a week.

I let it get to operating temp today. once at operating temp, the white smoke was still coming out. along with black water.

I am going to do a compression test. If I do that, will it 100% determine if I have a bad head gasket?

The smoke coming out of the tail pipe smells burnt and when i changed the spark plugs, they were black.

thanks

'Cause they have you mr. T.

How much white smoke?

A compression test will tell you if you have a leak somewhere. But not necessarily just a head gasket.
You add any products like fuel injector cleaner lately?

Any buddies of yours like to play practical jokes? A tablespoon of tranny fluid in the intake will cause a $hit-ton of white smoke...for about 30 minutes

Re: white smoke from tail pipe

Could be bad fuel. My car sat for a while and the fuel went skunk. Had a lot of white smoke coming out until I added some HEET and High octane fuel(mixed n balanced fuel out).
Bad fuel also gets "wattery"(collects moisture). I don't know why.
IF it was a head gasket I think the plugs wouldn't be black cuz the coolant would steam clean the plugs if i'm not mistaken.

Re: white smoke from tail pipe

so i started the car again today, and no white smoke on start up.

i didnt let it get to operating temp but that doesnt matter if a head gasket is blown.

i also put a funnel in the rad and brought the car up to 2500rpm a few times. no bubbles.
