abs code 18

Looking for a little help here. First off i have a 1997 prelude type sh. Ok, so I have abs code 18. My question is that on the manual it says it the wheel sensor LR. As I was looking online for help I saw a couple of thread stating that its the high pressure system because its a 1997 and it used the same abs layout as the 4th gen. Is this true because the manual states it from 1997-2001. I hope someone can help with this thanks.

Re: abs code 18

I guess I'm gonna answer your question with a question.
Why does it matter to you if it's the same as the 4th?
Do you have a bunch of 4th gen stuff?
I do not know if it's from the 4th. But my guess is it's not because Honda pretty much re-engineered the entire car with the 5th. It may be similar in design though.

Here's a link to majestic honda. vvvvvv
It's set up for a 97 s.h.

And one for the 95 sivtec vvvv

You can set up your car on the page. Bookmark it. Then set up a 4th gen on the page, bookmark that and cross reference part numbers. Maybe that'll help answer your question.

Re: abs code 18

Well it matters because the abs code is for two different things. 4th gen abs light code 18 is for the high pressure system and for the 5th gen its the wheel sensor, but apparently that applies after 1998. I dont know i kinda confused because i also thought they re-engineered the whole car. I will try that part reference thing though. Maybe that can give me a definate answer. Thanks for your response though.

Re: abs code 18

I just checked and they arent the same part number. Guess I will change my wheel sensor and hope it clears my abs light. Once again thanks for the help.
