Lexan view.

Had a off the wall idea yesterday while working under the hood of my car. Has anyone actually cut portions of the unbraced part of their hood and replaced them with lexan? I understand that its purely for looks, but I was wondering if anyone ever entertained the idea of it? Or if you've done it what could be some lookouts and tips

Sad part is I actually said out loud "clear aluminium?" Before I caught the sarcasm. But seriously I an considering getting another steel hood to attempt to make it work.
