Euro R swap help

Ok So I have a euro R h22a coming for my 2001 base prelude with a manual trans. The new motor comes with ecu and the correct lsd trans to work for this swap. I know I have to use my old crank sprocket and a usdm oil pump because of the crank position sensor and top dead center. Now when using this euro R ecu What do I need to use my stock wiring harness with the euro R ecu? I read I need an obd2b jumper to make the usdm harness work with euro r ecu correct?

Re: Euro R swap help

top dead center is not a part, TDC is literally Top Dead Center as far as aligning your cam gears, oil pump and balance shafts.

distributor and injectors differ with the euro-R as well if i'm not mistaken - you will need them from your motor.

Along with your crank gear, oil pump and cpk sensor from the old motor - new oil pickup gasket, new timing belt, new balance belt, new water pump, new tensioner (unless you're using a manual tensioner or converting to KS)

The last euro-r I worked on used the stock harness. Otherwise, above is all we changed to get it running. You didn't do your homework....hope a shop is doing the work.

Re: Euro R swap help

I believe you can use stock harness and the euro r ecu by using the obd2a to obd2b adapter. As for the injectors I wanna stay with the euro R injectors because if im using the R ecu and use the usdm injectors i'm thinking it would run like **** correct?

depends does it come with header and downpipe or not? R and S engines have better headers than other h22s
injectors might be the same 290cc ones what obd2 H22s have

H22 Timing Tensioner by KAIZENSPEED | KStuned.com

you should replace the clutch also + other seals/gaskets

Id open whole engine and rebuild it (like I already said)

Re: Euro R swap help

euro R had a better 4-2-1 header which it comes with. usdm base lude h22 had obd2a euro r is obd2b. Ordered stage 2 clutch from my work even though clutch and flywheel are still pretty new on the old motor. Gonna have my mechanic do the main seal and other gaskets while hes got everything out.

Re: Euro R swap help

^ stage 2 might be too hardcore for DD use

you dont really need better than stage 1 (or competition clutch has stage 1.5 but its pretty much same as other manufacturers stage 1)

also notice that too light (8lb) flywheels arent good for normal driving

you really cannot build your NA car to that point where you would need stage 2 clutch

I tried to find the heaviest aftermarker light flywheel what there is that my cars DD features wouldnt suffer... I end up getting ~12lb one (competition clutch)

Re: Euro R swap help

The injectors are indeed different.

You CAN build an n/a car to need a stage 2+ clutch....

And OP; will your car pass MD inspection with a swapped ECU?

Re: Euro R swap help

doesnt need inspection only has to be inspected upon transfer to a new owner. And as far as the injectors shouldnt I use the ones that came with the motor if the ecu is tuned to use them correct? From what i read the only thing needed to use em is custom fuel lines because the stock ones are different. U know if thats true or not you seem like you know what your talking about wing.
