My Tranny is officially Done... Lude in distress!!!

flywheel done...
pressure plate done...
Clutch f'ed up...


This explains my horrible pick up speed, bad gas milage and having problems climbing hills. I had a a hunch that it might be my tranny because at first I thought it was a bad cv axle or a messed up haft shaft. I changed both of those and still the same problem. So today I decided to take that the tranny apart and found my problem. So now I need a new pressure plate, clutch, flywheel and God knows what else is f'ed up since this is all I found at first glance.

p.s. A member on here posted that they think the mods staff cars down give problems. I can give you a long list with this one. But it will take too much time. Right now I'm exited and shocked at the same time. Cause This tranny was not cheap and it was made up of all aftermarket parts ei clutch flywheel etc etc.. Then to all of a sudden take a dump. Killing trannies is not my thing. Maybe blowing engine but not trannies lol.

It's not so much as to whats in the tranny. It's the tranny itself I'm worried about becuase it's not a tipical one.

I know have a fidanza flywheel. Randy G. Davis Stage 3 clutch with his special pressure plate (he is a local guy that makes great clutch kits). It feels better than the act shyt I had. I got to break it in though .


Internals are fine hehehehehe.

Well I started changing the clutch at about 2 pm this evening and I finished changing everything about 8 pm. Not bad for a guy that was procrastinating huh? I had to get another set of hands to help get the tranny loose. That was the hardest part.

Then I went for a drive after assembling the tranny. After about 30 minutes of driving I see steam coming from my engine bay. I looked at my temp gauge and it was at half. Normally my temp gauge sits a little below half. So I'm like o o.... What the hell I did now????????????????????? pulled over poped the hood and saw that I didn't tighten the coolant hose that runs to the base of the head. Real smart Ace... lol. I used a small flat head instead of a big flathead, hence why it felt tight to me in the first place. lol


Car runs like a dream.


But I'm still having the same problem I had before I knew the clutch was bad. it's till vibrating. I don't think it's my wheel bearing because I'm not getting that clack clack noise. I know it's not from my tranny. I"m confident it's not from my axels because I've changed those already. Infact 2 days ago. I'm starting to think it's from it from the balancer shaft pulley or another pulley. I'll check them tomorrow since I'm not doing much else after school. it's driving me crazy because the car pulls great put I'm getting a vibration from somewhere and I don't have any idea whats cause it. Damn hondas lol.

I know it's not from my tranny. I"m confident it's not from my axels because I've changed those already. Infact 2 days ago. I'm starting to think it's from it from the balancer shaft pulley or another pulley. I'll check them tomorrow since I'm not doing much else after school. it's driving me crazy because the car pulls great put I'm getting a vibration from somewhere and I don't have any idea whats cause it. Damn hondas lol.

are you sure you narrowed down where it sounds like its comin from?
does this happen all the time when you drive/shift/accelerate/decelerate?

I'm not 100% sure it's the balancer shaft but I'm pretty confident. I'm trying to check the pulley by prying inbetween the block and the pulley to see if there is any play. The main culprit is usually the rubber piece in the center of the pulley.

The thing is.... I'm not even upset. I think I like the challenge.. it's weird lol.

it happends on acceleration and during breaking occassionally.

oh... I forgot to tell: I took the release bearing off and i turned the washer thingy and it was grinding. Now imagine how loud that would be at let say 2000rpms. My pressure plate and circulor indentions around it. The clutch had hotspost everywhere. it's all fixed now though. Moving on to vibrations monday after school....
