DDM Tuning Shipping Time/Customer Service

Has it gotten any better? I believe they have a good product, definitely a great price, but I've been reading a lot of negative reviews regarding their customer service and dreadfully long shipping times. Though they are all pretty much from 2009ish to early 2012. I haven't been able to find anything about them recently.

Re: DDM Tuning Shipping Time/Customer Service

Many times word gets out and folks get overwhelmed. Small companies don't always have the dough to pay somebody to answer emails, or the phone for that matter. And when they get backed up the turn around time gets longer.
Have you read they flub the job? If not, be patient. If I were going to tune, I'd use a spare unit and keep driving until the improved unit arrives..

Yeah man, I definitively understand that. I read on a thread from like 2011 that they had like 2 guys running it, but it seems like they've grown substantially since then. Im just not trying to wait a month for HIDs. Which sucks because they're like $40

Re: DDM Tuning Shipping Time/Customer Service

dont buy from them... ill link you to a thread i posted on the mr2 forums with my experience.. this was very recently this happened.. as in less then a months or so ago..
Buyer Beware !! DDM TUNING !!!

read that link above but if you dont ill just summerize it here
paid for 3 day delivery took a month to even ship..
ballast blew in 2 weeks
they blamed me for not buying "error code elims or a relay harness" my other car is an 88 mr2.. nothing fancy is needed
they agreed to warrenty my ballasts but i had to pay a fee "7.00 a ballast plus shipping to them"
told them since i paid for rush shipping and it took a month im not paying for my ballast to be warrentied but i will pay shipping"
they told me they think its better if we end our relationship and i send my kit back
i never got an rma number i send them 3 more emails for an rma no response
i called them explained who i was and the issue got hung up on multiple times "i was being very nice not out of line"
they finally deleted my account on their website so i cant get in contact with them or open a warrenty ticket..

bottom line they are scum bags ! i baught 2 ballasts off ebay for 18 bucks total and they have worked great with no issues for over a month now

Re: DDM Tuning Shipping Time/Customer Service

I bought a set from them 2 years ago. They still had that local pick-up option (saved $10 shipping) when I checked out. So I ordered it online, it was ready for pick up in a few days. Picked up the set, and it has been working great since then. I just ordered another set for my fog lights in Jan 2013. They didn't have the pick up option anymore, so I called and they told me to order it, and then call them to change the shipping method. I ordered it and called them a few hours later, the line was busy. Tried a few more times, still busy. Tried a couple time the next day, phone was still busy. Later that day I got an email saying my order has been shipped from China. And then it finally got here after 3 weeks with a delay due to Custom inspection.

Re: DDM Tuning Shipping Time/Customer Service

There customer support is crap. Also the HID's them self look kind of cheap like any Chinese made product but they do work great. They are lifetime warranty when and if these go bad I don;t know how I would be able to get it replaced.

It's a complete bull**** excuse to funnel you back into to the way THEY want to handle communication. Guess I'll get HIDs when they come standard on the M3 I'm buying.....one day haha. I'd rather stock lights than the headache of cheap HIDs. I did it on my old vehicle when I was 16-17 years old. Guess not much has changed.

Re: DDM Tuning Shipping Time/Customer Service

I've had three HID sets from them so far, with No issues whatsoever. I recommend them highly, though there are better out there, like Morimoto. You'll pay quite a bit more for the Mori kit but they are of far higher quality.

Re: DDM Tuning Shipping Time/Customer Service

i bought 4 sets from them 3-4 years ago.. they lasted me since then til recently... never had a problem with them and shipping was quick within a week. about 1-2 years ago i purchased another set for a friend and my brother and it took about a month and a half to ship and quality seemed a little more on the cheaper side.. recently about a month ago i ordered one from a friend with standard shipping and he received it the same week but still seemed like a low quality setup but still decent for the 40 bucks you spend. i might say 4 years ago when they weren't as popular they had better setups and quicker shipping.

oh and it was the apexcone raptor 35w hids and ballast
