key blank

Sorry, I looked but couldn't really find the proper section to place this thread. I found this key blank (I don't have a spare, my key actually is a 'spare') because I only have one key. Anyways, it says only for 95-97 prelude. Would it not work for a 93? It looks to match. Thanks for any input.

Re: key blank

The key blanks look like the ones I got a while back. I got 2 just in case, if you make a copy of the copy it won't work right. It will require some jiggling to get it to turn smoothly, which probably isn't a good thing.

If you get this, go to the dealer with your car registration that has your VIN and they'll cut it much better (what I did with the 2nd one I got).

Re: key blank

I guess it depends on the dealer. Mine was quite nice and didn't charge me anything since the guy told me that they didn't have pricing on that because the only thing they had int he computer was prices for programming of those chipped keys. Just give them a call and they'll let you know.

Walmart also cuts keys for free but that goes back to the quality of the cut from the copy. 1 more thing, I noticed that those keys were a bit pricey, from Thailand too. Are you choosing them for the blue inset or are they just replacement keys? I got plain black ones with the H for about 3.50 each,

Re: key blank

Thanks again. Yes the reason for that certain one is the blue inserts, they caught my eye when I was looking, the blue will match my car. I'm going to call the dealership now and find out what they'll charge me. Thanks again
