How hard is a swap?

My friend has a written off integra gsr and I'm pondering about taking it off him and swapping it into a civic or something I can find cheap . I have a friend who dealt with swaps but never with a honda

My question is , would it be easier to find a base model integra or would it be almost the same with swapping it into a civic ? Or if anyone who has done this with a 3rd gen prelude?

Thanks

That's a relative question. I find them easy.

In case you hadn't noticed this is
Prelude Zone, not acura zone or civic zone!
Throw in the word prelude here and there and maybe you'll get more responses.
Search bar is your friend here. Start in the 3rd gen section here.

My answer is, if you gotta ask you can't afford it.

Re: How hard is a swap?

engines of those cars get swapped so frequently there's probably like a 10 step guide somewhere that can guide you and get it done within 6 hours assuming you have everything necessary and the trans/motor is ready to be swapped in.

GS-R has B16, some Civic's like the SiR came with them too I believe. Should be a direct fit assuming it's EG/EK civic...not sure, research is key, don't take just one persons word.

Much like the 90-97 accords that can easily have H22's swapped in them.

Civic = Integra (D16 to B16 swaps common)
Accord = Prelude (F22 to H22 swaps common)

Re: How hard is a swap?

Gsr is 1.8(b18) not a b16 and put it in a ef hatch or crx.. Otherwise your lude is still gonna be faster, assuming u have a h23a1 or h22. Stock h-series lude WILL crush a stock gsr teg. Put it in the lightest car u can find and it might be able to hang with the big boys lol. I would just keep ur lude. Even if u have a f-series you can spend the money on upgrades with all the money youd be spending in doing that... And im pretty sure it will leave a gsr swapped civic. I use to Walk The Dog on my friends gsr swapped ek hatch with my 2.3 non vtec. Preludes are built for torque and power unlike civics lol

Re: How hard is a swap?

oups my bad. I thought B18 (the one with vtec) was Integra type R territory. B16 is Civic SiR (EM1) territory then eh...

lude ftw...

Re: How hard is a swap?

Yeah the b18c1 is a gsr. The b16 accually came in SOME euro da tegs, sir eg hatches, sir del sols, and em1's.. I also think they came in sir crx's too but not to sure on that. B18's only come in tegs i think. Preludes are the best tho and always will be! Ive known semi built h22s on 11psi to spank 2013 lexus's, foxbodys, camaros, boosted sti's, etc.
