5th gen moonroof in 4th gen

Anyone done the moonroof swap? I got so excited yesterday when I noticed the junkyard posted they had a 5th gen, needless to say I went their today and pulled it out and already got it sitting in my car just need to finish modding the brackets because it doesnt sit flush with the 97-01 brackets.
1 of the main reasons I did this was because I had a hole in mine from rust...its just so nice to see my car without all the rust on the sunroof

Nope. That is open all the way. Has like 3 inches of the shade showing.

Re: 5th gen moonroof in 4th gen

I actually have one sitting to fab it to fit just haven't got to it. I heard not too long ago about carbon fiber moonroof replacements so I'm in the search for that.

I was originally going to get that, they r $415, I forget what the website is though if I come across it again ill post the link for u, only thing is if u get it u might want to always have it covered as much as possible so the finish doesn't haze. Also I believe there is alot more custom fab'ing to be done with this because they talked about having to weld among other things.

Re: 5th gen moonroof in 4th gen

I don't get you could be looking at the brackets that need to be cut from the outside. The only brackets that need cutting is the three along the very back of the assembly. Take a look at this write up.
