Prelude sightings

Since there weren't that many preludes made, I smile each time I see one. So this thread was started to see just how many of these fine automobiles are still running around.

I'm not gonna post the ones seen everyday like the mega dark green 4th gen that passes by my work everyday. Instead the posts will mention the first time seen ones like white pure stock looking 5th gen I passed on the way to work.

Thanks for reading this. Hopefully others out there like this idea and adds their Prelude sightings.

And hopefully this is not some been done too many times type thing.

Re: Prelude sightings

There are actually a good bunch of them rolling around where I live. In my town alone there are five 4th gen 'ludes (including mine), six 5th gen 'ludes, and two or three 3rd gens.

Also, you misspelled "grammar" when you edited your post.

Re: Prelude sightings

I see a lot of 4th gens, some fifth, but since I got this car almost a year ago, I have seen maybe 3-4 3rd gens. The most recent one I saw was in Deptford, NJ passing the opposite direction about two weeks ago, and he looked just as shocked to see me as I was him, ha ha.

that's what i was speaking of.
sounds like a pocket for preludes where you live. there are a bunch at eastern virginia and northern but the central part where i live it's a treat to see one. i see most in commute each day.

like dallas said i park either beside, behind or as close as possible.

Re: Prelude sightings

where I live...edmonton, AB, population of just under a million...

I see very few 3rd gens, theyre either junked, junk, about to be junk, winter beater cars and the 2 nice local ones I do know of have H swaps and 4WS.

As for 4th gens...very few of them. Not counting mine, I see one maybe once every two weeks and its always the H23A1 model in faded red, silver or black with rust. One guy in this city who is on PP has one, probably the cleanest 4th gen in western canada. Everything on it is new. Thing is ballin' out of control.

5th gens are the most plentiful despite sale numbers being significantly lower than past gens. At least half are clean/stock/unabused, other half are autotragic or winter beater junk cars. common colors: silver, black, red...some white, some EBP, and never see the dark green color.

Re: Prelude sightings

A black fifth gen drives by my work everday, its driven by a woman, shes kind of cute. Another fifth gen came in to my work the other day, 98 SH, really nice. Talked to the owner for a bit. Told him about PZ, told him to join. Then I see one or two around town sometimes, mostly fifth gens. But one fourth.

Very true. My mom drives a 2001 Accord coupe, you put my 01 lude next to hers and they look very similar. People preferred the accord over the prelude because the accord had a well established name.

Well, that and you can actually use the back seat of an Accord. Also, the trunk is larger.

Re: Prelude sightings

Accords are nice but no were as the 5th gens body style. I see a few 5th gens and a few 4th gens around. There is 3 super clean as 5th gens ive seen but one of them2 times only other a one time thing. Also a super clean white 4th gen and 3rd gens I always get confused with accords and civics of the same year. They look the same! almost.

Re: Prelude sightings

sounds like edmonton is where preludes get sent to die. )-:

there's a red 3rd gen (89) down the street from my son. the lady and her husband said i can use it for references while i re-do my 91..yay!

i see a few 5th gen but mostly 4th where i live. and many driven by recycled teenagers like me. some 3rds here and there driven by what appears to be original owners.

however the only modified ones i see are usually crap-illy done. so sad. you know the type. overspray on glass, molding flopping around, space shuttle wing and that bull frog croaking through a megaphone exhaust tip.

i see a stock 99 in a service station parking lot here & there. i asked the mechanic there why it keeps getting dropped off. he said check engine light. i said check out pz. haven't seen it lately..could it be pz showed him the way?

Re: Prelude sightings

I probably see two to three a week on the roads in south florida. Usually 5th gens. I saw what must have been an original owner 3rd gen Si. Bone stock, and the guy driving must have been in his late forties/early fifties. I've seen a few riced out 4th gens, but one NICE 4th gen a few weeks ago. There's also a woman that drives a 5th gen in my neighborhood, bone stock. Other than that, I really don't see any at all. Civics and Teggys are the norm around me.

Re: Prelude sightings

going to a drug store this morning for toothache med, parked next to a black 99 base with auto. seemed be all stock from outward appearance. scoped it out some.
below aftermarket head unit there's a small storage area that a wallet/ pack of cigarettes would fit...and a cupholder hanging on the door.

2 different red 3rd gen at 2 different locations.
saw the distinctive headlights coming up to pass me on my commute. a red si with 2.0si logo on the swooped up trunk.
later another red one rode by my work. plain trunk, no trunk logo.
both driven by youngsters say early 20s. both appeared to be all original.
nice!

Re: Prelude sightings

The car club at my school has 2 black 5th gens, both in real nice shape. One is bone stock and the other has a couple aesthetic mods done. I met both owners and talked to them about the cars for a while a few weeks ago. I've seen a clean looking 2nd gen in town a couple of times too, but only just going by in traffic.
