Clutch

So if you read my other post you know about my clutch if not then I was at the strip and launched perfect made it in to second from second to third my clutch gave out or fused as I was told?? My rpms shot up to 8000 and stuck no matter what gear I tried and then it smelled like well I burned the s*** out of my clutch! Needless to say I have no clutch and was wondering what a would be a good one to buy? Where should I look for one and does it matters that I have a JDM h22? I am looking to get one that will hold up come next racing season
~Thanks

my best choice is ACT. Mostly everyone has it. ACT makes different stages + they have a street clutch that I think holds up to 350 HP. Look around the web, it's not cheap. The clutch kit is about $350 - $400. But u will get what u paid for.

Im getting the same clutch when I do my JDM H22

.. you have to consider labor most of all, cuz you need to take many things off before you can even think about getin to the transmission, the actual replacement of the clutch takes less than 5 mins.. well thats how long it took us..probably lookin at no less than 275 (just my opinion)+ the cost of the clutch.. I was just about to say Excedy, but you guys beat me to the punch

I was quoted $600. just in labor plus how much the clutch will be and that is from a friend of a friend. I have no idea what something like this would cost because this is my first manual car...wish I could just do it myself! Is that a normal price or is that just way to much?

sounds steep. the $400 for me was labor, i provided the clutch. you can probably get it lower than $400, but i live behind the orange curtain.

^^^ Thanks if only I was closer! I think I may have found a solution to getting it done, one of my friends owns a racing shop here called racing trendz, and he was the one ordering the clutch for me and then offered when he gets back to just do it for cheap. They are usually super busy and never have time to work on friends stuff and if they do you end up being with out a car for a week or two because he would do the work after hours. He has been over seas (getting JDM parts) for a while to so I didnt think it was even an option at this point, but he said he would so yayayayayaya I am excited it will get done and I can trust the person doing it. Also I can be there when he is doing it so maybe I can even learn a little something...so hopefully it will work out and I will have my car (I miss driving my car ) because my mom's auto Camery is just not cutting it at all

nice. I'm using a clutchmasters stage 3 and a findanza aluminum flywheel. good setup.
I've used CM for 3 different cars now.
