ATV fuel line???? someone help

Im not sure if I can post this here, so mods if this is the wrong spot, please move it, couldnt find any other spot to put it, unless im blind...

The story is this
I went to drain the gas tank, started pouring outside, i covered my quad, went inside, came back the next day and the fuel line was GONE
So i tried figuring out where the new one i bought should go, and i couldnt figure it out. so i gave up last year.

Just pulled my quad out of the tent behind my shed the other day to take it all apart and figure it out, and i still cant

Heres the video, maybe someone here knows about fuel lines and where they are supposed to go on quads???? if someone can help me out that would be great, I posted on a polaris atv forum noone answered me other than a welcome to the board post... I looked at diagrams, nothing useful, ive searched youtube for videos, i understand a fuel system better now, and i know how to run a fuel line for weedwackers, scooters, etc now lol, but nothing on this!
I have also searched google, other peoples posts on the forum i joined to ask my question, everything and still cannot find this!!!!!

so someone help me out please
quad is a 2001 Polaris Trailboss 325cc

and the hoses you see there disconnected go to the airbox and ****, nothing to do with fuel as far as i know.
also if someone locates my fuel pump in this video let me know, maybe thats where it comes from???

Re: ATV fuel line???? someone help

The purpose of a cut-off switch is to stop the supply of something (fuel, voltage, etc..) so there needs to be an inlet and an outlet. So the cut-off switch should be between the supply (gas tank) and the carb/engine.

It looks like there's only one line coming from the cut-off which goes to the engine, so that looks like the outlet (from the cutoff switch). Which would mean your missing a line from the gas tank to the switch.

Can you take the switch off the frame? so you can look at the back of it better?

Re: ATV fuel line???? someone help

thanks for the help man, but i can take the switch off if needed, but i just thought of something...

the one nozzle at the bottom of the gas tank, the outer one, goes to the one side of the cutoff switch, i took that line off yesterday, forgot to mention, when i had to take the gas tank off to get better view.

but could it be possible that the other nozzle of the gas tank, the middle one, the one i point out saying i dont have a clue where it goes, would that go to the other side of the cutoff switch??

would there be 2 inlets for the switch???

Possible, yes. But I don't think so, cuz that would give the switch 2 inlets, which doesn't really make sense. Maybe one outlet is for an internal reserve tank? If you have a reserve.

Re: ATV fuel line???? someone help

i dont think i have a reserve. where would i find that? and where would the fuel pump be located?

Edit:
ok so maybe its this

i have the fuel line from tank to cutoff switch, from cutoff switch to the t which splits to 2 inlets on the carburetor, then i have a fuel line that goes from the carb to that front thing, maybe fuel pump? in front of the handlebars, then a line runs from that part back to the cutoff switch, maybe its a return to the fuel tank? and the second hole on the switch is for the return line to the tank? does that make sense maybe?

Edit:
i found a video explaining the return lines, and i think thats right, thanks for turning my focus to the switch man, now i just need to pull the switch off to determine which side it inlet and which is outlet and my fuel lines will be good. then comes cleaning the carburetor, possibly a little seafoam with the first gas mixture, and trying to get it running.

but i figure it goes, tank to switch inlet, to 2 carb inlets, to carb outlet, to fuel pump (in the front of the handlebars), to switch, switch outlet to tank as a return line.

+1 rep for you for being the first person in a year or 2 to try to help me out!

Re: ATV fuel line???? someone help

Quads don't usually have fuel pumps. The gas runs off gravity and pressure

Re: ATV fuel line???? someone help

well whatever the **** it is, its part of the fuel system.. and i looked it over and i had the lines going to the carb all on and in tact, but i was missing the one piece which is part of the return, thats my guess, im gonna look inside the fuel tank tomm to see if i see a filter on the outer fitting. and if the other one doesnt, then its a return, but thats the only logical answer in my book... i literally cannot find anything else it could connect to

Re: ATV fuel line???? someone help

so, just to update on this if anyone is interested.

Figured out that the cut off switch is a 2 inlet 1 outlet. the 2 in from gas tank, 1 out to full pump which then runs to the fuel pump which has 2 outlets that run to carburetor, then theres 2 overflow hoses coming from the carb that go into one that sits through the frame and down the bottom to drain on the floor if needed as a bleeder.

my cut off switch was broken, so just ordered that along with a new air filter and a filter sock thing for extra filtration.

the cut off switch has 2 inlets because one is for the main tank, and the other is for a reserve area in the tank that has its own little section blocked off from the rest of the tank area.

so once those 3 parts come in next week or so, i am going to reconnect the fuel lines FINALLY, throw the new filter in, i cleaned the carburetor today, and im gonna give it a go at pull starting it with fresh fuel and oil in it.

then once i can get it started, if i can, then i am gonna move onto the electrical, i need a new battery, then i will test the starter, and see if i need a new one, which i dont think i will, it was fine before my ground cable broke off my old battery years ago, so it should still be good. but once thats done im gonna pick up a new front bumper bar, and radiator, and make sure all those lines are good because i had a leak at one point.

once i have all that done i am gonna throw 4 new wheels on it and it should be good to go. might end up seafoaming it though eventually when i need another oil change, and then replace the plug for it, to give it a nice cleaning inside.
