Need Some Help from knowledgable members

Hey guys this is my first post and it's fairly technical Don't take offense but I need members that have experience trouble shooting and not someone that has heard this thing from this person etc etc

So the specs that matter:
98 Type SH
98 JDM Type S motor
Power FC OBD2A B16B version
Skunk2 Pro 2 Cams

I had the car running great on that setup then the auto tensioner broke and i bent 6 valves
I got a Stock 98 head with:
Skunk 2 Pro series valve springs, base kit and ti retainers, bisimoto cam gears set at 0, skunk2 flat face valves
and did the manual tensioner swap

the stuff i removed while the head was off:
EGR solonoid
ABS
charcoal canister+emission related stuff on firewall
IAB in intake manifold
plugged all the intake manifold vacuum feeds except for the fuel pressure regulator line

what i've checked:
I have spark during cranking
I have compression 230+psi across
The fuel pump works
I've tried adjusting the timing from 0 degrees to 30 degrees advanced no difference
I've added 150% more fuel no difference

what it does is it'll crank and catch for a split second and die

like it is running off the fuel from the initial prime of the pump, initially i thought the pump wasn't staying on during cranking but i wired it directly to the battery and it still did the same exact thing

I've got 2 4 gauge grounds one from the dizzy to the battery and one from the intake manifold to the driverside shock tower

the only thing i haven't checked is the base timing and Ive got no way to check fuel pressure right now

any ideas??? anything at all? im usually pretty good at this stuff and i haven't really changed much

Re: Need Some Help from knowledgable members

car was running 2 weeks ago on same tune the only thing different now on the motor is flat face valves bumping the compression up 1/2 a point

im wondering if I have vapour lock on the fuel line it sat open for nearly 2 weeks

If my fuel pressure regulator was no good what would be the symptoms?

on the apexi FC it has an Idle learn ability it'll start just about any honda within a couple cranks

Re: Need Some Help from knowledgable members

yeah but the type s and type r heads are factory ported and your new head isnt, it changes the air flow

and I bet that these what you did

"IAB in intake manifold
plugged all the intake manifold vacuum feeds"

mess up your system now somehow

Re: Need Some Help from knowledgable members

the port job from honda is just a bowl clean up, not a big difference, all the vacuum lines were plugged off before and the IAB's were disabled before the plates have just been removed now

none of these things would change the way the car starts

this is what the car is doing

the car has fuel pressure no air in the line, it catch's right away and i've added fuel to the CLT map i've added a tiny bit to the cranking map and it catches very fast as you can see

Re: Need Some Help from knowledgable members

Try running it off of starting fluid. spray it in the intake as close to the TB as you can and see if it runs. Btw why did you remove your IAB?

Re: Need Some Help from knowledgable members

Ground off distributor?

transmission should be grounded to the battery and the battery should be grounded to the chassis.

on the drivers side - you need a ground coming off of the head - anywhere to the chassis

I know from past experiences that not having enough grounds/in the right area will cause the car to start but shut down. It sounds like you're loosing spark or fuel so it could be part of the issue, but probably won't fix it.

Re: Need Some Help from knowledgable members

removed my IAB's because the Power FC wont control it

I grounded from the dizzy so that id have less noise, and i grounded off the Intake manifold because most of the sensors are attached to it i'm going to add another one just for the head so the spark plugs have a direct line to the battery negative

was just talking to the guy I bought the head off he neglected to tell me the head was decked abit so my compression is closer to 12-1 or more so that would explain why it's so lean when cranking, Just put my S2000 injectors in and got a datalogit so i can tune it via laptop

had it running for about 25 seconds yesterday and it was really lean then really rich lol

im going to try retuning it today hopefully it works out can't wait to dyno this motor

Re: Need Some Help from knowledgable members

found the problem it wasn't the tuning...
one of the wires in the dizzy, for the crank sensor had a bad connection.

untaped it saw it right away and fixed it, and the beast fired right up
