have u ever heard of "dumps" because thats what that is its just electronic instead of having to remove covers manually. i've never used them but back in the day ppl would do that to V8's to increase hp a little bit and to make their car LOUD!.. i've never seen or heard a honda w/ dumps but i've heard a subaru sti w/ some on youtube and it sounded really good! although my muffler fell off of my lude and it was loud and sounded really good. im sure dumps wouldnt have sounded much different then w/out my muffler.

i've been considering it, only cuz an e-cutout would be much more beneficial on a F/I setup than a stock setup. i could prolly see +30/40hp with a true e-cutout over stock, which could equal 2-4 tenths in the 1/4 mile.
but on an almost stock setup, it might amount to a 10hp increase at MOST, plus alotta obnoxious exhaust noise.

if you did just have dumps wouldnt you have to adjust the timing of the car. and couldnt it have a negative effect of a stock motor because there i no back pressure.

of course with a fully built engine it would be more beneficial b.c the car would be tuned that way

what im sayin is if the car is not tuned to run without an exhaust it will not run very well.

the reason i am sayin this is because my dad has an old 76 MGB and we were replacing the mufflers and all we had was the header on it. when we started it up it ran like ****. as soon as we put the muffler on it, it ran better and smoother

idk. cuz when the muffler on my lude came off it made my car a lil faster, the throttle response was better, and it was louder. but... my cel light was on... probably bcuz it was lookin for my exhaust which wasnt really there. lol

that would be interesting to actually see what would happen on a dyno. it makes sense that the throttle response would be better and of course louder.

i guess it depends on the engine. b.c i had also punched out the cats on my dad t-bird b.c the inside was falling apart and it ran worse it didnt have the pull that it used to. when we put new cats on it, it ran better.

i dont think i would do it to a stock engine. a built engine would be a different story

Someone found my secret plans!

But seriously, I plan on using one on my Integra so I can be open at the track, and keep the "stock" exhaust so I'm quiet

Anybody considering this system might want to ask themselves where the exhaust goes once it dumps? May be a wise investment to have a secondary tail pipe setup (like out the side or something) just to make sure those nasty exhaust gasses don't just hang around undernieth your car while you're idling in the staging lanes. (That happens a lot, I always say that Drag Racing is "hurry up and wait")
