Possible silly brake question

I have a '92 prelude that has developed a brake issue in the last week. The abs light has been coming on since I got the car in April but it doesn't come on unless I move the vehicle about half a block. Up until last week the brakes have been working great so the light has been on the "check later" list.

Here is the problem: Every once in a while when I press on the brakes the pedal continues on the floor with a slight pull to the drivers side. If I let up on the pedal and try again I get better pressure. The vehicle stops with no noise so I'm not sure what the issue is. Could it be the heat? we have been dealing with 100+ degree weather lately. I felt around the back of the wheel and there isn't any moisture (leak) just road grime. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, is it normal for the pedal to go all the way to the floor after the car is stopped? This is also new to me as I haven't noticed it in my previous cars.

Re: Possible silly brake question

I would start by bleeding the brakes. There are plenty of how to's on the interwebz.

see if that helps your problem out.

Re: Possible silly brake question

Search up how to check your abs codes. i know there's a guide on how to do it around here somewhere. Once you get the code(s) we can go ffrom there.

Re: Possible silly brake question

Pull the abs fuse. If the brakes are still mooshy, bleed them. If the brakes harden, the abs unit is shot or the speed sensor for the abs is. You can drive with the abs disabled, just stopping power only, no hard braking and steering.

Let us know about your findings.
