Bad engine knock. Praying its not a rod bearing. Opinions please

I just bought a 96 SI prelude with 16*,*** miles on it. It sounds like the lil drummer boy under my hood, and after the motor heats up it runs sluggish and wants to die at idle rpms. I have heard that it might be a sticking lifter, but i have also heard it could be a spun bearing. I don't know much so ANY advice will be greatly appreciated. I have been told to try seafoam in the main vacume line and crankcase, i just don't know

Guy i bought it from installed a cold air intake, wondering if that might be a reason for it stalling at idle

Im no expert at this but I know a rod knock is the loudest thing you will hear by the bay does it get louder as you rev it? If it doesn't maybe you need a valve adjustment.

its loudest at startup. Im going to run some seafoam through the oil and gas, ive been told that might cut the noise a lil and it might clear a stuck lifter...

pop the hood and play with the gas pedal with the car on and see how the sound changes. take it for a drive and listen. Find out if it only happens under load, or not under load, or both.

for seafoam, dont drive too much with it in the oil. maybe drive 5-10 miles, do a 0-60 pull then change it. And putting it in the gas tank is a waste.

with the car on pull a spark plug wire out, if the noise persists put it back and pull another one and keep going till pulling one out eliminates the noise. I think if it still continues after that then it may not be something inside the engine (is this the correct method of checking this?)

if it comes down to it just swap some VTEC in there.

Um. What? How long have you been driving like that? Save yourself some trouble shooting and pull the oil pan. If you see little silver fragments, your engine is done. If not, che k easiest to hardest. Best bet is to post a quick video so we get an idea.
