Gas light? (no diagnoses just ramboling)

I know this is kind of a weird question and im not really trying to diagnose it cause I dont care but when I turn my key the gas light never comes on and if I run it out of gas it dont turn on either I got a new cluster cause the gas gauge didnt work and I changed the light bulb and still no light... anyone else have that problem?

Maybe your sending unit in the gas tank is jacked. More commonly happens when changing the fuel pump, but nonetheless...

Is it supposed to turn on at all when you turn the key? Ive never seen it lit in my 5th gen. (i dont usually let it drop below a quarter tank though)
