This got me thinking......and thats not good.

I found this link about a month back and this is why im back on PZ. Its about a 500hp TRUE RWD 5th .To sum it up, he built his h22 turbo installed a H2B adapter kit and put in an awd tranny out of a CR-V and only hooked up the back wheels for power. full link hear. 1998 Honda Prelude - RWD Converted Honda - Super Street Magazine

This bring me to the point of why i am back. I want to do this to a.......................................95 Isuzu rodeo . I know i know just let me explain. I miss vtec so bad i wake my self up at night going vvvvvvvvrrrrrrrrrrRRRrrrRRR sometimes. The original engine in about shot and at only 100hp not going to spend money this type of engine, i want to swap. First thought was just take a KA24 out of a 240, fab up some mounts and be done. "Bolt on" and boom 150hp and could go turbo if i wanted to. Then the thought hit me, a rodeo is juts a "base" model of a Honda pasport, so it would be more fitting to use somethings Honda and not Nissan. This would be one way of doing it and i know he has a build page some wear and i need to find it and read. Could there be any other way tho?? One thought i had was to take a h22/h23/f22 and tranny take off one axle, weld the diff, hook up the axle to a drive shaft to the rear diff. maybe some wear is a h22 to RWD tranny adapter kit, any other types of tuneable Honda engines? Idk just want to see if anyone else has a thought on how to make this dream come true, you know toss the wrench around. I want to talk shop on how to get this done not this is way to much money and i should not even try.

may god have mercy on my soul as i push submit

Re: This got me thinking......and thats not good.

Would it be possible to design an adapter kit to mount an s2k trans? Or you could just rake an s2k motor and tyranny. Custom the driveshaft, and extend the rear axles? Idk about gearing though. That would be the most difficult part to figure out. Though I guess you could just use the ratios from the front diff and redo the rear to match? You say you don't wanna hear about how its too expensive so there's my thoughts.

Yeah i'd try to use an s2k type setup. i'm sure it can be done with enough time and money. adapter to s2k tranny would probably be the best idea. then whatever rear end you decide to use and measure up for a drive shaft.

Re: This got me thinking......and thats not good.

The s2k crossed my mind by the cost of just the engine and tranny is more then what the h22/ crv would be but total cost might run me cheaper in the long run. Keep it going guys I need ideas.

Re: This got me thinking......and thats not good.

Trezzy actually had the car converted to AWD a year ago, and it's now for sale, 15k takes it.

He's on the preludepower fb page and the forums if you wanted to ask him any questions about the build.

You should probably stop thinking.....bad things happen when i decide to think....like adding a wheelie bar to my quad and wheeling down the street in traffic

Re: This got me thinking......and thats not good.

This is what i got so far. S2k engine and tranny 2-3K h2b engine, tranny and adapter , 1,500-2,000 and that not even everything. As i was doing all this i found a old ms paint pic i made long ago. It reminder me of what got me in to cars in the first place. When i was 5 yo i had a VW bug tow truck toy and it was sweet, so much i said i would have one someday. Today is that day and this will be my next few years project. I have been toying with the idea of putting Honda engine in a punch bug for a long time. Vw is 60 inches across and a 3rd gen is about 68, so 4 inches longer so it should fit maybe, but I need some help with real world measurements from you guys. What is the real with of a 3rd gen at the tires and top of the shock towers? How tall is the engine from the sub frame to top of the engine?

this is what i will be doing this summer just hope it will be fwd when i get done with her.
