Injen v.s AEM

I'm going to buy a intake very soon, only question is which one? I heard that Injen is better then AEM but I doubt there is a big difference between them. Injen is a little more pricey. Do you guys have a intake? And which one should I buy??

Re: Injen v.s AEM

I've always used ebay with K&N filter on my lude and teg. Saves me $200. But that doesnt answer you question. Searched google and it all comes down to filters apparently. AEM vs Injen Cold Air Intake Systems - Performance Intake Comparison

Re: Injen v.s AEM

Why don't you spend the little extra cash and get an aem v2 or type s intake.

Why don't you save a bunch of money and go ebay with a better filter. All it is is a stupid pipe

Re: Injen v.s AEM

Well i'd just get a k&n with an ebay intake. keeping the stock intake with a k&n is okay but the inside isn't smooth like an aftermarket one. i have an ebay intake and with it's filter but i'm planning on getting a k&n soon. they are all just pipes with a filter on the end.

Re: Injen v.s AEM

yea, the only intakes worth spending some big bucks on are the type s intake or the v2.

other than that just go with what everyone is saying cheap pipe and K&N filter.

Re: Injen v.s AEM

I have an ingen CAI on mine. When I bought the car it had a eBay short ram on it and when I went to smog it I got turned down because it didn't have a carb legal stamp on it for the great state of Cali... Hindsight though, I wish I would have for a type s intake, but I can't complain too much about my ingen CAI...

Re: Injen v.s AEM

AEM is pioneer in the CAI and has been making Intakes longer than both K&N and Injen. So i'm sure they know what they are doing when it comes to intakes whether short ram or cold air I would pick AEM over any other Aftermarket intake system.

Re: Injen v.s AEM

I have a AEM cai and I works better then a ebay imo. My buddy had a bay intake and it kept ****ing up. Maybe cause it was in a cobalt ss and it has that stupid bend on the intake. but fitment was all bad.

Re: Injen v.s AEM

Sorry, but how can you tell that you're AEM cai "works better" than an ebay item? Do you have dyno sheets, flow charts, maybe an intake air quality report you can share with us?

I am sick to death of this debate. Every now and then we get another spate of intake questions, and considering that the technology hasn't changed I fail to see how the answer changes every year.

Here is a thread that answers all your intake questions. If you bother to read it all you may even find that half the questions are answered multiple times.
Q&A - Intakes
