Rpms jumping at idle

My idle is jumping. I cleaned my iac and it still is jumping. I took car to the dealer to get some work done and when I got it back the idle started jumping.

Re: Rpms jumping at idle

Not knowing what gen prelude you have, I can suggest checking the passages on the IAC and all your vacuum lines. The IAC should control your idle but if it's sticking, it could mess with your idle. I know you said you cleaned it but check to make sure the plunger is actually moving freely.

You did not tell us, what work you had done on the car. This could help us to help you.

Re: Rpms jumping at idle

Happened to me the other week I had a intake manifold gasket leak which coolant was leaking out the bottom, started off small then of course got bigger.. check for any coolant leaks usually after you been driving around for a bit or try bleeding the air out of your coolant.

Re: Rpms jumping at idle

Dude, seriously check all your lines. I don't mean just the ends where they connect. Follow every single line from one end to the other, slightly bend them ALL and look for cracks. Unless you recently replaced them all, they are old and prone to cracking.

I forgot to add that it does not start to jump until the motor warms up.
