GC coils on stock shocks

I went to the garage, they tried to sell me some new shocks, I told them I would in the future but for now I just want to get my coils installed. I did try to install them on my own but most of my bolts are rusted into spot, using WD40 didn't help all it made me do was strip them a little bit.

If I install my Ground Control coil overs on my stock shocks, at the garage they told me if I lower my coils lower then 1 inch my stock shocks will blow immediately. Is this true? If not, how low can I go without blowing my shocks, and how long do I have until they do blow?

TL;DR : If I install GC coils on stock shocks, will my shocks blow right away if I lower more then 1inch

Re: GC coils on stock shocks

you usually get about an inch or so to mess with stock shocks.

Your shocks wont get blown right away but they will wear eventually... and quick.

Re: GC coils on stock shocks

you'll end up paying for two alignments when you only need one.

They will last roughly 3-4 months if you drop below 1" bro.
