Paint issues

Sup guys,
My SH needs some repainting here and there. Someone repainted OVER the factory rear bumper (no sanding or primer) and it doesn't match. The mirrors are fading and the clear coat on the spoiler is peeling. Is it worth it to just repaint those specific parts? Will 11 year old paint match/blend with new paint?

Or should I just do the whole car?

Thanks all,

Pete

Re: Paint issues

Would you recommend dealership or local painter?

Re: Paint issues

Dealership will rape you in cost and most likely half ass a thing or two.

Find a reputable shop to do the work.

If it's just the bumper, spoiler and mirrors - have them done separately. But if you can tell the rest of your paint isn't in the best of condition - get a quote for a full scuff down, repair dents and re-spray.

For prep and paint of the spoiler, bumper and mirrors - an average estimate from a GOOD shop can cost around $1500.

For the entire car, it can be around $3,000-5,000 for a scuff n shoot with a few dent repairs.

If you want a REALLY good job (best you can get), meaning windows out, doors off and everything done separately and then installed/blended with the body - expect around $10,000

Unfortunately, most red Honda's end up fading faster and have clear coat pealing. If you were to just get the parts mentioned repainted - expect them to not match 100% due to the rest of the fade on the car that may not be as visible until a properly painted part is installed.
