Icon5 Oil light :/

Long story short.. My oil light comes on (flickers) when I'm sitting in traffic (700rpm) If I let it sit there long enough it starts to flash till I restart the car. If I tap the gas or pop it in to N (1k rpm) the light wolnt come on.

Short story Long.. I would just say I spun a bearing and have lost oil pressure, Oil pump is shot, really thin oil...

The problem with all those theories is that:
1. I just rebuilt the motor.. Bearing, rings, O. Pump, W.pump, T belt, (you get the point)
2. The oil pump is brand new.
3 Im running 15w 40 rotella

I did just replace the oil pressure sending unit, is it possible that its set way to high?

WHAT DO YALL THINK..

Re: Oil light :/

The rotella is too thick for your engine. Trust me, you don't forget the sound of a spun bearing. Why are you using turbo diesel oil any way? If you have a H22, 5w-40 is your oil. You need the protection as the engine gets hotter.

Re: Oil light :/

5w-30 is recommended by honda for the h22. And again why are you using diesel oil?

Re: Oil light :/

im on that 10w-30 works great for me, but sounds like your loosing pressure somewhere do you notice any type of leaks under the your car even something as small as a drop will kick that oil light... im leaning towards a front or rear main seal... :/

Re: Oil light :/

That oil is to thick as mentioned. 5w30 or 10w30 are for hondas lol.

Re: Oil light :/

Nothing's leaking. That's one thing I did when I rebuilt that I made sure I did was replace every seal

Dude, seriously, get that crap out and put in some 5w-30 synthetic. You are going to ruin your new oil pump if you haven't already.
