Icon5 Removing CV axle from trans. ITS STUCK!

I just picked up a used H22 out of a '99 SH. The passenger side axle came right out of the final drive of the trans with a short pry bar. From my experience, (and I'm a tech) that's all it usually takes to get them out. However, the driver side one will not come out of the ATTS unit. The engine is sitting on the floor and supported by an engine hoist. My friend sat on the engine to hold it still while I put a 4ft jack handle over a pry bar. No luck. My best guess is that for whatever reason, the detent ring on the end of the driveshaft is expanded or stuck. Any work around for this? I don't give a hoot about the ATTS unit. I just need to remove the driveshaft so I can get at the bolts that secure the ATTS to the engine block. Thanks!

I know this is a really old post. But I recently ran into the same problem, just wondering what you did in the end to get the CV axle out. Thanks.
