are prelude a target for car thief?

Hi all, I have a question. Are the preludes a target for car thieves? The reason I asked is because my GSR was stolen before I picked up my 5th gen. Now I am constantly worried about my car if someone would try to steal it too. I know why my GSR was stolen because they wanted my engine and the parts, but what about Preludes? My mechanics are telling me that usually they won't go for it due to the large H-series engine. I just want all yours opinions. I still can't really sleep well at night and constantly checking outside at night. IT sucks!!!

Integras are #1 stolen cars in North America.
Civics are in the top 5 as well...
I should know, i had both cars...my Civic was broken into 4 times

Preludes, never made it to the top ten list of stolen cars.
You should sleep a little easier owning a Prelude but nonetheless, a thief is a thief. Get a nice alarm system that will wake up the entire block.

u mechanic sounds like an idiot. If he had some street knowledge he would know that the only reason an (import theif) would want your car is because of the motor. the gsr and type r tegs were popular theft items because of not only the motor but also the interior, wheels etc. People used those parts in there civics everywhere. But the prelude really doesnt have much to offer to those guys besides the motor.

All in all I still think u are less like to be a target. But still don't trust no one.

Thats just my .02 cents.

yeah... ludes never were a prime target, but everything's fair game. just get a rabid pitbull that's foaming at the mouth and put him in your car before you go to sleep.

But what if someone throws that dog a meat on a stick laced with marijuana? (Friday P.II)

haha... yea, the first thing I did when i picked up my car was installed an alarm system with the LCD pager. It's loud and sensitive. So hopefully that will help deter car thieves.

Hell...I live in da' ghetto!! I think half of my neighbors are to damn high to even think about stealing my lude, let alone being coherent enough to even figure out where the locks are on the vehicle. Ta, he, he!
Like they said, get a good alarm.....And maybe get a sticker that says something like, "A thief will be shot, thieves will be shot twice". lol
I think you'll be ok.....

yea, just put like 2-5 sirens on your alarm and wire them directly to the battery w/ a relay. ppl will avoid your car just b/c it hurts their ears.

LOLL that's probably the funniest theft deterrent idea i've ever read/heard in my life

I think if you have a garage or park the car close to your house... hook up a loud siren (or two ) so you can hear it if it goes off and sleep with a 12 gauge mounted on your wall next to your bed...

I've already got my Worth Powercell 8oz drop (25 inches long) next to my bed.. I KNOW I KNOW.. it's a softball bat but there's a reason.. i used to have a Louisville Slugger but it's too long and too much weight to lug around when someone is breaking into your ****.

Now i'm just finding a reason to buy a throwing axe and a 12 gauge to add to the collection.

I agree with ya bro.
My Civic got broken into once already...stupid ****s tried to steal the car and only took my cd player and my recaros...they didn't even bother with my engine. I used to park my Prelude everyday in front of my house and it was never touched.

Crazy man, just crazy.
