Replaced my CMC, problems with freeplay

I finally replaced my leaking clutch master cylinder with a new unit. I installed it, flushed the system and bled it properly.
I've had excessive pedal freeplay problems in the past and ended up adjusting to the end of the rod to have the proper freeplay with the last and new cmc. The problem is, I still have too much movement and too big a throw. Can someone chime in?

I need my 3rd gen on the road.

Thanks

Re: Replaced my CMC, problems with freeplay

Update, I went off and adjusted the rod one more time, it's now proper, but way past the proper limit, I think I'm going to modify the fork that attaches to the pedal arm, by welding a nut to the back of it, not so I have more room to adjust, only so there is a longer set of threads so the pedal doesn't decide to come apart on me, it's for peace of mind.
