Break-In time!

Hopefully today i will be starting my rebuilt engine for the first time. Fresh cylinder walls, ported & polished head, whole nine yards. I have 10w-30 break in oil that im going to use, and i want to know how long should i keep that oil in? ive researched and my plan is to start up the car and immediately give it 3k revs for about 20 mintues or so to let the rings set good. Is that the best thing to do or is there a better idea?
