Radius rod failure at 100mph (vid)

Here is what it's like to have one of your radius rods fail at 100mph

4.10 in the vid

Sorry for the brightness, I have a new HD camera on the way.

Daaamnnnnnn thank god you were on the track when that happened, and not the street around innocent ppl. That would scare the pooooppp outta me!!!

Did the radius rod come off the LCA, or out the front of the front subframe?? Any other suspension/body damage?

Re: Radius rod failure at 100mph (vid)

Yeah and at a part of the track with enough run off, if that had happened going into the first corner I would have been alot worse.

What we think happend was that the nut came off, resulting in the big washer and front bush falling off. The whole wheel assembly was able move backwards bending my arb drop link, causing my wheel to rub on the arch. When the radius rod washer and bush came off one of them hit my CV boot, spliting it, and CV grease to go everwhere including the inner side pf my disc and pad Also my alloys are knackered I have no idea yet of any other damage such as bent coilover etc...

No nut, washer, and bush

Bent arb drop link

where the wheel rubbed the arch

Split CV

Grease is the word!

Mis-shaped holes

I had only just finished polybushing the whole car as well so that was a brand new Energy Suspension radius rod bush that I lost :( New bushes and ES ARB drop link bushes are being delivered :)
