Balance shafts :/

Ok so i just got my prelude, its a 2000 base 5spd. One of my friends keeps telling me to cut my balance shaft belt as its not really necessary and that it would make the car a bit quicker in terms of how fast it revs up. I keep thinking to myself that the belt is there for a reason but i was gonna ask you guys for input? TIA

Re: Balance shafts :/

Either you remove the balance shafts properly and do the blockoff using the kazinspeed* kit (which requires the motor to be pulled) - or don't touch it at all.
