reverse lights

My 92 has been swapped from an auto to manual and has no reverse lights. I cant get it to pass state inspection without them.

Im sure whoever did the swap didnt wire them in right so does anyone know were I should start? Is there a DIY to do the complete swap somewere? Im ready to get this thing on the road!

Thanks

Funny you say that. I was thinking about running them on a toggle to pass. Im sure its against the law though.

I was mainly trying to see how hard it is to make them work correctly.

Re: reverse lights

Could be the reverse switch on the transmission. Mine only works intermittently. They break occasionally.

Re: reverse lights

When Bustr converted my auto to 5spd that I had the same issue as well. If you knwo someone that knows wiring by heart to check onlin for which color wire on that engine harness is for your reverse n link it to one of the wires underneath the passenger sill. There's wiring runnin along there that one of them leads to your rev lights.

I appologize for the lack of detailed info but that i do recall Bustr doing that to get my reverse light working.

Re: reverse lights

Look underneath, could be simple as them not plugging it back up. I gotta check mine cause my lights don't work either and it's only been like that since the engine was out.

Re: reverse lights

Check where the reverse light is then see if the two wires coming out of it hooks up to the harness side wires. There should be two of them coming out from the engine harness side. This is how it should look like, both connections are covered in rubber boots like so at the very top:
