Vtec engage then fuel cut

I got a h22a 4th gen. I just recently got vtec working on it. Now I hit vtec at 5200rpm then at 5500 rpm I get fuel cut. Most annoying thing ever it's like a tease. Could it be a fuel filter or fuel pump?

No way it would be the fuel filter, doubt it is the pump. Sounds to me like it's ecu/tune related. Lets wait for what others have to say though.
