clutch will not disengauge

i have bleed system 40 different ways . have taken starter off and shift fork boot have put light inside and with mirror can see that everything works as you would expect it to work you can see the clutch plate move away from clutch and flywheel heres whats been going on after a bleeding session you can push clutch in and put in gear back out of garage take out of gear push clutch in again and it may or may not let you put it in gear and never a third time.

and exactly what does the clutch damper assembly do
also there is no sign of the clutch plate disintegrating , and remember it will allow the system to work a few times then it wont disengage ..

any thoughts and have already rep[laced slave and master no leaks and clutch fork seems to travel same distance from when it works till when it does not.

thxs george

Re: clutch will not disengauge

if i had to guess id say the pressure plate is broken .. ive seen this a few times .. once the strap on the edge of the pressure plate broke and was wedging one side of the plate .. the second there was a broken fork on the pressure plate and the 3rd the strap rings that hold the forks in place had broken and the pressure plate was touching the clutch ever so slightly even with the pedal compressed .. could also be a bent throw out fork or even a worn out ball that the fork mounts on .. either way your going to have to start by pulling the trans and inspecting it .. you have to remember that there isnt a whole lot of clearance in between these parts even with the clutch depressed .. dosnt take a whole lot to make the clutch constantly touch the pressure plate and flywheel and cause it to act like this ..

time to pull the trans and get a good look .. sorry for the bad news ..

take a very good look at the rings above and below the rivets on the pressure plate also look at the straps on the outer edges ( can be seen from the outside of the plate ) .. if you dont find any issues there .. check the ball the throw out fork mounts on the fork itself and make sure the disk slides easy on the input shaft .. good luck
