HELP!!!! Sounds like a subaru! Not good!

Now, while have have my respect for Subies, my H22 should not sound like a flat four... A little history on the car: 98 Prelude, forged internals, cams, high compression, running Greddy E Manage. About 25,000 miles on engine. Ran fine before this aside from a heating problem I just fixed a couple days ago (air in the system)

On to my problem. I went for a drive last night, no problems. About 20 minutes from home the car started running a little rough on the interstate. Pulled over at a gas station, looked under the hood, checked spark plug wire tightness on the distributor and the coil... Didn't fix it. Suddenly ran fine, so I thought maybe I bumped a vac line and it fixed it, but didn't notice any loose lines... So, I left, about 2 miles down the road, started back up... Pulled back over, checked it, but didn't see anything. Didn't fix itself. Came home, took off plug cover and checked plug wires. Tight... At 2 am, I was done. I did, however, find a leaking coolant line going to a sensor on the front of the intake manifold. Pic included. Sorry for crappy quality, taken with phone at 2 am.... Any help is much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure one cylinder has a miss from the sound and feel of it. It has power to move, but can hear a miss in the exhaust.

HA! I wish that worked for me the other night... LOL I figured it out tho. I was gapping the new NGK Iridium's to the gap of the old Autolite El Cheapo's (I wanna smack whoever put those in an engine that's built for power)... Anway, didn't have the gaps, so went by those... When I was getting one of the plugs out, I thought "Well crap, that'll be a hard gap to match... Better get my Dremel!" (pic below) LOL New plugs gapped to 40, and a new rotor button, along with a replaced coolant hose to the IAC and cleaned IAC, and she runs even better than before!

I guess you should need an unequal length header to attain that sound. Also, the exhaust is the one that creates difference on cars and just like subie the sound seemed to be rumbling especially if you are using 6cyls engine. Anyway, there are a lot of Subaru parts that you can have and most of them can be found on local junks as well as on the internet.

He speaks the truth. Its the UNequal length header that gives subbies their signature exhaust note, altho it sacrifices around 30-50hp. But IDC, once I'm making ~450awhp, I'll be willing to sacrifice ~50whp for the sound of a subby
