h22 auto belt tensioner

honda was having a problem with the auto belt tensioner failing in the h22 didnt they upgrade it or change it on the 01 prelude h22a4. i think i read something about it some where.

maybe, maybe not. i have not heard or read about that. is yours failing? why not do a conversion to a h23 manual tensioner?

more reliable Ed. The autos tend to fail causing thousands in damages. The manual conversion is a must for any car with mods.

just replaced head gasket and timing belts the tensioner looks to be hydraulic or something i just went ahead and bought a new one.

put new auto tensioner on t belt is making a winding noise like a supercharger guy told me drive it it should go away other than that it runs great. havent got to floor it yet to see if shaved head helped any he said to wait 500 miles
