skunk2 coilover help!!!

ok so i bought some skunk 2 coilover sleeves and put one on the left front shock yesterday only to find that i will not lower the car and im so confused. iv put on these same coilover sleeves on my freinds car and never had any problem. i had tien springs on before and the car actually sits alot higher, basically stock hight, even when i adjust it all the way up. has anyone come across this problem? how can i fix this

Re: skunk2 coilover help!!!

Haha Ya bro u wanna move the springs down not up. On those coil sleeves if im not mistaken every 8 threads is roughly an inch. Give or take a little. They're a PITA tho if they get crusty bc theyre fine threaded. Keep em clean n lubed on occasion n u should be ok. Also just FYI the ride on them isnt too great. Real rough. Buddy of mine has em in his 4th.

Re: skunk2 coilover help!!!

The car isnt gonna lower if you only put on one coilover. The other 3 are still gonna hold the car up. With different spring ratings all around its gonna sit funny. I say put the other 3 on and see how is sits once the springs are all the same.

That wheel will still sit lower tho. My bet is either bump stops or the dust shield if not both. Tbch if I recall correctly I dont even have the dust shields on mine anymore. IDR lol I'll have to go look. I'm slammed on megan sleeves and KUB AGX struts with no issues.

Well, I don't believe it's an issue with the spring or sleeve since it worked fine for me, must be something on the shock housing you're not seeing

Re: skunk2 coilover help!!!

Wow so I figured out what it was. I went ahead and did my right front to see that it was working properly so I took aprt the left front to discover I forgot to cut the dust boot. I feel like such an idiot lol. Thanks to everyone who tried to help.

Re: skunk2 coilover help!!!

Well I was driving today and felt that the right front was driving really hars, so the first thing I checked was to see if the spring was in the top hat which it was . Then I opened the hood and saw that the shock was through the top hat. I'm goiing to take it apart later to see what might have caused it? Has anyone had this happened to them before?
