Excessive smoke

Hey, I'm new to these forums, stumbled upon them while looking up some things and thought I'd join!

Anyways, my first question of many to come: Why is my car smoking?

I have a 97, rebuilt head and tranny on it. Other than exhaust, its all stock. 208k miles, and running smooth. Upon starting, it starts smoking. Sometimes its not that noticeable, sometimes it REALLY is. It lasts the whole ride, whether I take it easy and don't engage the vtec, or if I run the heck out of if. I notice is especially at stoplights and such, low speeds and take offs.

Now, it is burning oil...not that much though. I pulled the plugs, and compared them to a chart. The tips were orangish, which showed high heat or excessive acceleration or something. Replaced them to be safe. Ran compression, got 190 190 200 220. Looks decent? Replaced pcv valve, was sucking some oil. No fix.
Also, there wasn't any oil on the plugs, so I assume my seals are fine.
I'm lost! Any help, would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Excessive smoke

Redid compression today. Got 225 230 230 225, so my rings are fine.

Checked for coolant and or problems, and I found none.

Down to valve sticking, because of some clicks while checking compression, maybe valve leading to exhaust is just stuck and dumping oil...or cat is full of oil and smokes when hot!
