Icon2 Tranny Problems (i've used the search tool already)

Although many other members have transmission problems that sound sort of similar, but I'm not sure that I've found one that has answered my worry.

So lately, I"ve been noticing that as I'm driving and running through the gears, (not stepping on it either), its seen really hard to get into gear (all of them). they're not grinding, just feel kind of stiff; notchy. My clutch pedal seems fine, has a bit of free play before clutch engages as it should, and I don't have to press down on the clutch pedal all the way to the floor to engage it. my fluid resevoir near the master cylinder is good on fluid. Once I'm at a dead stop or close to it, my gears go in and out just fine.

Hopefully one of you can enlighten me on my situation and in advance I appreciate any and all responses received, Thanks.

So the tranny fluid wasn't low per say, but it wasn't topped off, also it seemed pretty old and worn if you ask me, ill be changing the fluid here this weekend, hopefully it helps. Quick question of opinion, my dad has a couple quarts of GM Synchromesh for his vehicles, and i know a lot of members use it as a sustitute for Honda MTF, question is --- sychromesh a step down frmo Honda MTF? if so ill go ahead and buy honda fluid today, just didnt know if it was a matter of personal prefrence, or if there was a physical difference, thanks for the help BTW.

Honda MTF changed theyre formula a while back, There is alot of controversy still on the subject about gm synchromesh but go with Honda MTF my bet. The newer formula allows for better "cold" shifting too. I flushed and refilled my whole tranny after clutch repair and shes like brand new.

Welp, i changed the fluid this weekend with Honda MTF, the one in there was pretty bad, although my shifting seemed better, my clutch pedal doesnt have much pressure now, i can push it fairly easy with my hand, and even though the pedal is pressed, when i try to put the car into gear it starts engaging without me letting off the pedal. My fluid resivoirs are not lacking any fluid BTW.

Thats What i was starting to think, for some reason presdsure plate came into mind as well, although im not the best when it comes to transmission issues, and im not even sure that my sypmtoms are signs of a pressure plate going or clutch for that matter, if theyre not, i might go ahead and replace the slave cylinder very soon, OEM best option?
