accord 5th gear

I have a d2a4 i'am putting in my 88 si, I like the shorter gears but would like a taller 5th gear for crusing. I would like to know which year accord will work and exactly what I need. I have the skill level to do all the work so that is not a problem.
Thanks, Dan

I think the fifth gear from a cb7 Accord transmission(90-93) should work. They have tall gears like no tomorrow...why not just use the d2j5 tranny?
-it has a relaxed 5th gear and is for the 88-89's originally.

Thanks for responding. I like the short gears one through four on the d2a4. I have already bought the fly wheel and clutch pack for the 91. If I had done a little more checking I may have done it different. The d2a4 does have a bigger clutch disc. 8 and five eights. The case has more ribbing making it a little stronger. I need to know for sure what year accord will work as the gears are not cheap. I have a d2j5 and a d2j3 plus a few other prelude trannys. I can't recall the #'s. Will the fifth gear of the d2j5 work?
Thanks again, Dan

I dont know exactly which cb7 Accord year you need to source the 5th gear from, but i can surely point you in the right direction: www.cb7tuner.com

And i dont know if the 5th gear from the d2j5 will work, probably not but dont quote me on that

good luck!
