k20 ebay pistons

I wass looking to bump th cr on my g23 when i came across these pistons with a hole pre burned into them... not too sure about these cause i never saw a new piston with a hole in it. What do ya'll think?

Pistons With Rings ACURA RSX Type S 2.0 K20A2 02-05 | eBay

I would rather only have a whole in my piston if its from boosting lean, not cause it came that way. lol

Re: k20 ebay pistons

It said that they are 86 mm. Are they going into an h23 block? They only reason i bet that hole is there is to focus the combustion into a small area for more force. I.E. more hp. Seems like a smart idea. The price is pretty good. What kind of pistons are u running now?

Re: k20 ebay pistons

You're talking about putting K pistons in an H motor?

Re: k20 ebay pistons

no, thinking about putting these k pistons in my g23vtec. im still running stock f23 pistons. its an f23a1 block with an h22a4 head.
I thought that there had to be a good reason for that hole, sounds plausable. but it should be in the center it looks like.

Re: k20 ebay pistons

no, iron sleeves. k20 pistons go right in here i believe, but all the ones i saw on the bolis built g23vtec in import tuner where flat top, never saw this design. and yea its the same bore. im still skeptical.

Re: k20 ebay pistons

The ones pictured in that auction are K20A3 pistons (lower compression vs A2). I've been running them in my G23 for 7k miles. You have to flip them backwards because of the offset. Then your issue is the valve reliefs. With an H23 head and stage 1 cams, I had just enough clearance. Not sure if an H22 head will work as is. You can get the reliefs enlarged by a machine shop, or gently do it yourself with a Dremel

InvaderTrax, nice to know im not the only one running a g23. Do you know how strong these stock f series pistons are? having trouble findng info, and not sure what im gonna do. probably go boosted + nitrous if the will handle it. still not sure which route to take in order to bust into the tens. i may have to rip the block apart.
