Reverse Light Failure?

So, about a month ago, my reverse lights stopped working. The most obvious thought was a blown bulb (my buddy was under the impression if one blew, neither would work). Both bulbs seemed to check out, according to him. He believes the switch on my transmission is broken. His is, and it causes his to work on an intermittent basis. Mine never work. What else could I check to fix this? My windows are tinted all the way around (very, very dark) and I cannot see to back-up.

Thanks guys.

Re: Reverse Light Failure?

As your friend suggested - check the reverse switch ( i believe it's in the bay on the tranny somewhere) could be a bad switch or loose ground

Re: Reverse Light Failure?

The backup light switch is on the transmission, near the timing light port. Not difficult to replace. Usually when that goes bad, though, the backup lights don't go out, rather than not coming on.

REALLY!? He told me it was in the mystical caverns of Mordor

I can't see the wiring going bad, so I figure it must be the switch?

What exactly am I looking for?

I'll try my best to find it. Any way I can check to make sure it's faulty?
