Failed emission test =/

Pardon my language ill do my best to translate!

Hey guys, I took my car yesterday to have it controlled (gotta do that every 2 years) And everything went well untill they checked the CO at IDLE, Which i failed badly. My lambda values were off as well. They told me it could be lots of reasons for this (catalyst converter, co sensor, vaccum leak). Im not new with cars but i don't know where to start... If i want to get it re-tested after ive tried fixing it I have to use a whole day due to i live so far away from the shop.

The only work ive done with the engine since i got it tested last time (when it passed 2 years ago) was cleaning the IACV.

Where i marked with a red circle on the CAI there is a hole, could that be the reason? or is this gonna be expensive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i really want to keep my lude on the road

Re: Failed emission test =/

I would start with the vacuum leak. Check for any loose or ripped lines. A good way of doing this is by sparking water and checking for air bubbles just dont wet anything you shouldnt like the alternator.

Why is there a hole in your intake? that could be the vacuum leak for sure.

Re: Failed emission test =/

you see the yellow hose about two inches further back than what you have circled? that hose is supposed to be connected to what you have circled.

do you have any Check Engine Lights?
or an aftermarket exhaust?

Re: Failed emission test =/

The yellow hose is connected to the CAI what i have circled is another hole.

And i have a aftermarket exhaust which i had when it passed 2 years ago.

And no CEL's.

So I just put something over the hole and ill get it checked on moday if that was the problem.
