White Smoke Question

I drive a 93 vtec, and just bought it not too long ago. I know absolutely nothing about engines, just alot about body work. But, one day I realized that white smoke was pouring from under my hood, and the smell of burning oil. I popped my hood and it looked like it was coming from under my intake manifold, but a week ago I changed my oil. I'm not sure about the "term" but, where your headers go under your car, and they go from 4 to 2, then 2 to 1. Well, where the small piece is next to my oil pan where it goes from 2 to 1 it's covered in oil, and I have no clue what the problem is. Everyone says it's a gasket, but some people have been more specific and said an oil pan gasket or a donut gasket. Any ideas what the problem is?

i would probally say oil pan gasket, because if it was the VC gasket most of it would burn off before it actually leaked on the exhaust, did you make sure your oil filter was tight?

As tight as I could get it by hand, but this was doing it before I changed my oil as well.

ah ok, heres what you do just to make sure its the oil pan gasket... if the backside of the block has oil and grime all over it, get some carb cleaner and spray it off real good and whipe it down so it's nice and clean, then take the car out on a nice sunny day and drive it for a while, come home let it cool down and get back under it and see if you can see anywhere where oil would be running down the back of the block, if the block is still clean then i would say go ahead and change that oil pan gasket

oil pan gasket would be the easiest to check since its right in your face when your under the car.

our 4th gens are known for the oil cooler gasket going bad pretty often. find your oil filter, then see the circular thing the filter screws onto? thats the oil cooler. the gasket is between that and the block. see if thats where the leak is coming from.

Alright, got a little update. I was changing my spark plugs yesterday...and the combustion chamber (spark plug hole, whatever the hell it's called) was filled with oil, one hole so much, that I couldn't even see the plug. Someone told me that they've had that happen before, and that it's my Valve Cover Gasket...sound about right to yall?

^^It's not the valve cover gasket itself, it's the spark plug seals.
Most Hondas at late age will do that, it happened to me on 3 Hondas i've owned.

What you do Lo Key is get a valve cover gasket set, which includes the valve cover gasket, spark plug seals and the metal grommets as well...should run you less than $80.USD.
