Two Questions!

First, I'm thinking of getting an HID conversion kit, could anybody link me to the cheapest one, but with best quality, at the same time, I don't know what power bulbs to get. 4k,6k,8k,10k?

Second question, Fog lights, is there a conversion kit needed or not? Also for them, what kind of lights should I get? If anyone could help that'd be great.

I have a black 97 'lude.

One more thing, If I hear my engine is squeaking ( not clicking ) What is that a sign of? Thanks .

You do not pick the bulb. The bulb will pick you. Then, you will know which is right for you.

Just go to eBay and search 8k HID kit. Zentec seems to be the most popular on there. I have a kit and love it. www.ddmtuning.com is highly recommended on here as well. I have 8K and it is nice. Not too blue and still bright.

Re: Two Questions!

My woman has had bad luck with Meng. Personally I have Meng HID's in my car and 3BSpec HID's on my bike and I've never had any issues with either of those and I think there pricing is pretty standard.

For the fog lights I'm not sure I understand what you mean by needing a conversion kit. I would just go to ICBMotorsport.com and get the fog light kit they have and you should be all set.

Apparently I am too... though I don't think anyone else has a problem with it cause I've never been highbeam'd. Lowered the beam a little bit and it seems fine. Unfortunately I hate projectors....

Re: Two Questions!

XENEX is a good brand!!

Depending on what you feel comfortable with. 6K will give you a white look. Most including me use 8K with a 35W ballast.

But as for my fogs....I use 3K yellow bulbs with a 55W ballast to get more of that golden yellow look. But that I also have yellow LAMIN-X over the fronts of my fogs to get that deep yellow look.

Remember if you are gonna buy HIDs for your fogs to buy the ones with relays on them being that your fog harness is 1 and not like the headlights where there's 2. One leading to each headlight itself.

Not having relays for your fogs HIDs will result in the bulbs fighting for the power causing them to flicker if not have one brighter then the other or jus one lit and the other off.

***
And to answer your 3rd ques out of your 2 ques

Check your belts and see if they're worn bc they might be causing them to squeak like that. Jus my 2cents.

+1 for ddm tuning, I've used them and vvme in the past on my A4 and Impreza, just make sure you stay happy with the color you pick since you can't change the bulbs out. I purchased aftermarket lights for both cars since mine weren't projectors, but you should be able to retrofit with a few junkyard parts and a dremel.
