Refrigerant?

Bought the car last week. Is a 1992 Prelude S. Owner says it has been converted to R134A. Is there any way to test this? What happens if I fill it with R134A and it hasn't been converted?

Thanks,
-Jared

Re: Refrigerant?

When they covert it all they do is change out the oil for the use of 134a and also change the fittings so that you can use the same 134a hoses to recharge the system... You will pretty much burn out your compressor if it has not been converted..

Re: Refrigerant?

Is there a way to tell if it has been converted? Or should I just take the precaution of just converting it myself that way I know it's been done? How much does it cost?
