Spring much tighter than the rest...not liking the feel of it

Having a little trouble here. On the front left side, my spring seems much tighter than all the other springs. I can push down on all of the other corners of my Lude, and they give just a little, but this spring in particular doesn't give at all. I got my first hint that something could be wrong when I noticed the ride was much bumpier than before, and when I stop the car, not only does it do the normal jerk backward, but it shimmies a little to the side. So am I getting worried over nothing, or is this something to be biting my fingernails over that needs immediate checking?

if the car is bouncing like a cadillac after every single bump going down the road, your shocks are blown.
