Clutch Squeaking

Whats up. I've owned my 4th gen for about a year now and ever since i picked it up i've noticed that when i go to engage the clutch pedal, i hear almost like a straining squeak from the clutch, the best way to describe the noise is like sitting in your grandmother's old rocking chair and getting that squeak from its old age. Any idea's on what this could be? I've been thinking about getting a new clutch regardless, this was more of a curiosity. Thx

Re: Clutch Squeaking

If you haven't found your answer yet. Had the exact same problem. Had 108k miles on my 5th gen. If you look behind your clutch pedal, you might see some wet debris looking stuff, its your "clutch master cylinder" leaking. Replace that, and you might just want to replace your "clutch slave cylinder" while your at it. Those tends to go out shortly after you change your master cylinder. So just kill 2 birds with one stone and finish them all at once. Thats what i did to cure my problem. **but that sound is coming from your slave cylinder, i believe.**
