Re: valve adjustment

Something to not disregard is to let the engine fully cool down overnight. Your adjustment specs will be way off if you attempt to adjust the valves when the engine is still warm. But overall I would say the job for your first time doing it may take 1-1 1/2 hours. It's really not that difficult at all, you'll be adjusting your friend's valves on their Honda's in no time

Here's the thread I used and helped create...and also, you don't need the valve adjustment tool, just a box wrench and flat head screw driver if you need to hold the adjustment screw in place.

Re: valve adjustment

Whats the tell tale sign that you need a valve adjustment? I've been told I've got a little lifter chatter and a valve adjustment will remedy it. I can slightly hear the "chatter" when running and driving. Would a valve adjustment fix this?

Re: valve adjustment

Well I'm just looking for a second opinion. I'm not very engine savy and I just want to make sure a valve adjustment would fix the lifters

Re: valve adjustment

it could also help in some misfire situations.. especially on the 5th gens since most are notorious for misfire issues
