H22 Vs H23 VTEC.

So I really want to swap my H23 out for the H23 VTEC.

Would it really be worth it to go H23 considering the aftermarket support is mainly for the H22?

I plan to do basic mods, I/H/E, stage 2 cams, and possibly turbo in a few years.

What do you guys think?

Re: H22 Vs H23 VTEC.

Firstly, only you can decide whether or not it is "worth it" to spend a bunch of money on your car. Personally, I enjoy my Prelude for what it is, and when I have the garage space I'll have an actual fast car. To me, I'd rather start with something that is almost what I want and tweak it slightly. To others, they're happy to take an old car and turn it into a monster. Having driven a few of the local monsters, they're awesome; sleeper and giant killer. Put it this way: one of my best friends bought a nice 3rd gen Prelude, and spent a bunch of money fitting a worked H22. For what he spent, he could've bought a 5th gen with the same mods, or more. However he's never been happier.

Re: H22 Vs H23 VTEC.

Yea I love my car too much to just buy a different one. She is about to get fresh paint so she's a keeper :]

but some guy specializing in H series said the H23 VTEC jdm or frank. is an H23 w/VTEC head. So IM and header for H22 should bolt right up right? I know more complex things such as cams will need to be H23 specs.

H22/h23 hybrid

if u want your gonna go boost just get h22a head and f22 block (low compression). i dont think its worth it to stay N/A even with just basic mods. just do it right and get the good parts for boosting. just dont limit yourself with just one type of setup, checkout all the different types of prelude builds and find what you really like since thats most important instead of just going by what other people say and like

Re: H22 Vs H23 VTEC.

no I have my mind set on an h23 VTEC. also low compression so good for boosting eventually. I was just curious about the bolt on mods. I like a sexy engine. I wanna get the bisimoto header for it *jizz in my pants
but it's only made for the H22 i think...unless it will clear a H23..?
