lowering

I just want some suggestions on some good quality but not to expensive lowering kits. I just don't want a kit that after a while will start to sag. Also, if anyone knows why my car shifts smoothly to all gears except 2nd. When I shift, it feels like that is like the clutch isn't fully dissengaged.

Re: lowering

tokico is probably the cheapest brand out there... it's good quality, but only a step up above stock. it's more or less a stock replacement. doesn't improve handling a whole lot. but it sounds like you don't care to much about that. it only lowers an inch or slightly more.

lots of people are going to suggest koni or kyb shocks with ground control coilovers. both are great shocks... but every ride i've ever experienced with ground controls was really harsh.

so is your tranny grinding when you go into 2nd?

Re: lowering

It doesn't make a grinding noise, but I can feel a vibration in my stick until it gets into gear. And, I kind of car about performance. I would like up make it a little stiffer.

Re: lowering

well then it really depends on your budget. there isn't much for a middle of the road setup which it sounds like you're looking for. i don't like to suggest a specific setup/brand. suspension is one of those things you just have to try it and hope you like it. if not, hope it grows on you. mostly what you're going to find is either something cheap (ie, tokico) or something really expensive, (D2, F&F, JIC, etc) full coilover sets, fully adjustable, etc. there isn't much in the way of middle of the road. one brand i do know off the top of my head, tein. tein is hit or miss with the crowd here. i personally don't have any issues. only driven in one car with tein. i liked it. tein offers a plethora of setups. their prices i think are a little high.... but it's the only company i can think of right now that offers the multitude of setups. most just have 1 or 2 options. especially the expensive ones.
